Learn more about Cremation Jewelry

Along with the rising number of cremations in recent years comes a wide range of options for storing cremated remains and memorializing deceased loved ones. Among those options, cremation jewelry is quickly becoming a favorite choice of survivors who wish to pay tribute to their departed loved ones and hold them forever close at heart.

Here are some of the reasons more and more people are choosing cremation jewelry from the large assortment offered by Perfect Memorials:

  • Cremation jewelry comes in many styles, themes, shapes and sizes.
  • Personalization is offered on many jewelry pieces.
  • Allows your departed loved one to remain close to you forever.

From simple cylinders, to traditional hearts and religious symbols, to unique and exquisite works of art – cremation jewelry comes in a wide range of styles to suit any taste. The cremation jewelry pieces offered by Perfect Memorials are crafted from a variety of materials, including:

  • Stainless steel
  • Sterling Silver
  • White or yellow solid 14K gold
  • 14K gold vermeil
  • Glass
  • Wood
  • Stone

Cremation jewelry may be adorned with synthetic stones, such as diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds. Most cremation jewelry selections can be personalized with engraving of text, photos and artwork.

Following the death and cremation of a loved one, there is question of how to store or share the cremains. Rather than burying or storing the cremains in one large urn, cremation jewelry is a perfect way to share the urn with family or friends who may want to keep a small portion.

The cremation jewelry is designed to hold a small portion of cremains, locks of hair, burial soil or memorial flowers. Most jewelry will hold about ½ pinch of cremains, with the exception of the cylinder-shaped jewelry that will hold about one pinch of cremains.

Perfect Memorials offers cremation jewelry to fit any budget, from simple pieces under $29.95 to the most exquisite designs made of precious metals and gemstones.

Filling and Caring For Cremation Jewelry

If you are considering a purchase of cremation jewelry, you may be wondering just how the ashes will be placed in the jewelry you choose. The process is really quite simple.

Included in each order is a fill kit that will assist in filling the pendants with cremains, hair, soil or burial flowers. One fill kit per 5 pendants or jewelry pieces is sent with each order. Additional fill kits can be purchased separately on the website.

Each cremation jewelry piece can be filled with a small funnel through a screw-type opening, which you can open by twisting with your fingers or with a small provided screwdriver, depending on the design. A small toothpick can help you guide the cremains through the funnel and in to the cremains chamber. The toothpick will also be used to remove any cremains in the threads of the piece as well.

Most styles of cremation jewelry are designed with a secure seal, however it is recommended to use the included glue to permanently seal the piece. Simply apply the adhesive to the screw before re-inserting it into the opening, then twist to close tightly. The included glue does take 24 hours to cure and will only dry on areas closed off from oxygen (the glue can be wiped off the pendant if any should bleed when the screw is re-inserted.

It is not recommended to wear your cremation jewelry while bathing, sleeping or any other strenuous activity. Further care instructions will be included with your order.

Should you wish to have someone help you fill your cremation jewelry, simply call your local funeral home or crematory. Most funeral service professionals will be happy to assist you for free or at a small fee.
